Joe Parker kick-starts comedy Wednesdays at Gold Reef City Casino's Globe

South African comedian, Joe Parker, will be hosting evenings of top local and international comedy at The Globe Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino from 3 March to 28 July 2010. The Parker's Comedy & Jive events fall in line with the Casino's pledge to offer Jozi's best local entertainment to its visitors.

South African comedy legend, Joe Parker, boasts a 30-year career that has seen him cheekily defy all notions of political correctness. Sharp and to the point, Joe is infamous for being risqué but never crude. A fine musician to boot, he isn't shy to pull out his guitar and treat his audience to a few rib-tickling songs.

Parker's Comedy & Jive evenings are a great night out, featuring a phenomenal line-up of local and international comedians. Each week, two of South Africa's finest comedians will take to the stage with an international act, fresh off the US or UK comedy circuit. In March, the local lads on the lineup include comedy maestro Joe Parker, exciting newcomer Siya B, Celebrity Survivor star Darren Maule, and The Most Amazing Show's Rob van Vuuren, among others. They'll be joined by American stars Louis Ramey (from season 6 of M-Net Series' Last Comic Standing) and Yoursie Thomas (a veteran with two decades of comedy performances under his belt, and Canadian comedy legend Kenny Robinson.

The line-up for the month of March is as follows

• Louis Ramey takes the floor on 3 and 10 March. He'll be accompanied by Joe Parker and Siya B on 3 March, and by Darren Maule and Vittorio on 10 March.
• Yoursie Thomas will entertain the Johannesburg crowd on 17 and 24 March. He'll be joined by Joe Parker and Rob van Vuuren on 17 March, and by Darren Maule and Mpho Pops on 24 March.
• Kenny Robinson performs on 31 March, accompanied by Joe Parker and Chris Mapane.
• Show takes place every Wednesday in March at 20:30.
