Blame it on the Boogie

Now Showing at Gold Reef City’s Barnyard Theatre.

Are you ready for the 70s party of the century? Then Gold Reef City’s Barnyard Theatre is just the place for you.

Come and join a star-studded cast of talented musos as they bring you music from an era underscored by platform shoes, spandex, crazy hairstyles and most importantly…some brilliant music. Blame it on the Boogie, showing until 20th August 2017, is a celebration of disco, funk, rock and soul music, featuring a groovy playlist of music by the Bee Gees, ABBA, The Village People, Earth Wind & Fire, KC and the Sunshine Band, Kool & The Gang and many more.

Blame it on the Boogie features a talented 10-piece cast including four vocalists, two dancers and a rocking four-piece band that will not only get you into the groove, but also get your body moving! This amazing casts is the culmination and epitome of multiple decades of hard work, talent and dedication and features the likes of Connie Friedmann (Keyboard Player), who has been performing in the Barnyard Theatre for more than a decade. She really enjoys working with the cream of the crop of musicians that have graced The Barnyard’s stages from all over South Africa. Guitarist Jason Guile is also a musical director and vocalist for the Barnyard Theatre, and his love for music was born at the age of 3 when he started playing classical violin. Connie and Jason are accompanied by Vocalist JP Moggee, who started his professional singing career in 2003 when he joined the award-winning boyband HI-5. In 2007, he joined the Barnyard family, and has done multiple shows wherein he was lead male vocalist. Blame it on the Boogie also features the tremendous talent of Anzel van Zyl and Keenan Du Plessis (Dancers), Vocalists Stephanie Braxton, Riyaan Cornelius, Janine Cupido, Michael Ramasimong on percussion and Romeo Moalusi on bass.
