Each participant receives R1,000 in Tournament Chips per game.

Dates & Times: Daily, 24 Nov – 21 Dec 2025, from 6 PM – 12 AM.

Every buy-in adds to the final prize pool – more players, bigger prizes!

 

Knockout Battle

The Top 15 scorers from the Qualifying Heats advance to the Knockout Battle.

Date & Time: 23 Dec 2025, from 6 PM at the Tournament Area.

Includes 5 knockout sessions to determine the finalists.

 

Final Showdown

The Top 5 scorers from the Knockout Battle, plus 1 lucky player drawn from remaining participants, compete in the Final Showdown for ultimate glory!

Weekly Winners

The highest scorer each week wins R10,000 cash.

Total weekly prizes across the 4-week tournament: R40,000.

Base value: R60,000 cash.

Qualifying Heats

  1. Patrons can enter if they have a Valid Gold Reef City Rewards card or a valid Proof of Identification (ID/Drivers License)
  2. Qualifying heats will take place from 18h00 on 24 November 2025 until the last heat (after the last buy ins at 00:00) on 21 December 2025.
  3. Three tournament tables will be positioned on the Main Floor to host Qualifying Heats.
  4. Patrons who are with a Valid Rewards card or ID/Drivers License can enter this Tournament.
  5. Participants can purchase an entry for R100 at the Tournament area via Cash or Value Chips.
  6. Once a participant is seated they will be issued with Tournament Chips to value of R1, 000 per game.

American Roulette

  1. Each session will consist of the following:
  2. 5 x stacks of non-value chips (R1, 000 Non Value chips)
  3. 1 x maximum marker button
  4. 5 x spins
  5. A minimum of 1 x non-value chip must be played per spin.
  6. A maximum of 1 player allowed per session
  7. The maximum marker button must be played within the 5th allocated spins. The marker button will be applicable to the any straight up number of the layout.
  8. Payment for winning bets or maximum bets will be applicable to standard American Roulette pay-outs.
  9. No call bets or outside/even chances will be permissible.
  10. Promotional table denomination will be set at R10, with maximums to be applied at the Table denomination.
  11. Each participant will be allocated a time period of 20 seconds to place their respective bets, whereby bets will be closed thereafter
  12. No bets may be altered or placed after betting has been closed.
  13. All disputes must be raised within the Spin in play. No disputes will be considered after the Spin in question.
  14. After the completion of the 5 spins, remaining chips be calculated and documented as the relevant score.
  15. The score will be captured

Blackjack

  1. Once a participant is seated they will be issued with Tournament Chips to value of R1, 000.
  2. A minimum of R50 in Tournament Chips must be played on every hand.
  3. Participants will have a maximum of 5 hands and up to 7 boxes per hand to play.
  4. A total of 5 hands dealt per heat and/or until the allocated value of tournament chips is depleted.
  5. A Sweet 16 marker will be placed in the designated betting box on the layout on every hand, and therefore participants will qualify for the Sweet 16 Side bet on all hands to the maximum value of R250 per betting box, whereby the following pay-outs will be given to participants if they have a hand which is equivalent to 16:
  6. Sweet 16 (Ace of Hearts + 5 of Hearts) – 160 to 1
  7. Suited 16 (Any 2 cards of the same suit adding up to 16) – 16:1
  8. Same colour 16 (Any 2 cards of the same colour adding up to 16) – 12:1
  9. Mixed Colour 16 (Any 2 cards of mixed colours adding up to 16) – 6:1
  10. Only one participant per heat per Table will be allowed to play.
  11. Participant’s scores will be calculated for each session and recorded.
  12. Each participant will be provided with 3 x Wild Cards. These cards entitle a participant to change the face value of one card of the selected box.
  13. Wild Cards must be placed on the selected box, prior to the cards being dealt.
  14. Wild Cards do not affect the suit of a card, only its face value.
  15. These cards must be used prior to the completion of the 12 hands or before the tournament chips is depleted.
  16. There will be a count of chips after the 12th hand.
  17. Standard Gold Reef City Blackjack rules will apply.
  18. No other Side Bets will be allowed during the heat.
  19. All disputes must be raised within the hand in play. No disputes will be considered after the hand in question.
  20. There will be no voiding of hands/burning of cards.

Baccarat

  1. Once a participant is seated they will be issued with Tournament Chips to the value of R1, 000.
  2. Participant will have to play a minimum of R100 per hand and there will not be a maximum limit.
  3. A participant must play every hand (if chip count allows).
  4. If the participant has less than R100 chips remaining, the count will be allocated to their respective score.
  5. Each session will consist of 5 hands/coups in total.
  6. When the game commences, this player will have 10 seconds to place a bet
  7. A new pre-shuffled shoe will be introduced during the initial start of the qualifying heats and replaced once all hands are dealt for the gaming date.
  8. Once all bets are placed the dealer will draw with a “no squeeze game”, opening both player and bank cards
  9. No handling of cards permitted
  10. A chip count will be done at the end of each heat by the Tournament Director or Representative from the Tables Department
  11. Participant’s chips are to remain visible at all times.
  12. No voiding of hands will be permitted.
  13. No betting on ‘’Banker and Player” and no side bets (unit specific) on offer will be accepted
  14. “Tie bet” will be permitted.
  15. Per heat, only participants playing in the heat will be allowed into the playing area and no records of scores will
  16. be permitted.
  17. Participants will not be allowed to share chips or make additional buy-ins.
  18. No Side bets will be permitted.
  19. Non-Commission rules will apply to the tournament
  20. All disputes must be raised within the hand in play. No disputes will be considered after the hand in question.
  21. Management decision is final.

Knockout Battle

Dates: 23 December 2024

Times: 18h00

Venue: Main Casino Floor – Tournament Area

  1. The top 15 overall top scorers for the qualify period will be eligible for a seat in the Knockout session
  2. Proxy nominations will be permitted and accepted on the day if Patrons have more than on seat in the Semi-Finals.
  3. A draw for each Knockout Session will take place to determine participants per session
  4. The draw would also include participants picking random cards to determine the game type that they will start on.
  5. Once the completion of the round, participants will move clockwise to the next game until all three games have been completed
  6. The top score of each session will go through to the Finals
  7. Each score must be acknowledged and signed for by the Participant.
  8. At the end of the Semi-finals Heats, the top 5 scorers per Heat will qualify for the Finals.

American Roulette

Wild Card Draw

  1. A Draw for all participants that did failed progress through to the Semi Finals will take place, to determine the 6th and final position
  2. Participants or duly authorized representatives eligible for this draw shall be required to present themselves within 90 seconds from the time of announcement, and must produce the valid ticket entry and positive and acceptable form of identification e.g. a South African I.D./South African Driver’s License/Passport or other official form of identification as approved by the casino and any other details as required.
  3. Authorized representatives shall not be entitled to the prize and shall not take receipt of prize accruing to the Participants they represent.
  4. Should the prize winner or authorized representative for the prize winner not present themselves within 90 seconds, a re-draw will take place.
  5. The casino shall take all reasonable steps to contact the prize winner that does not attend the draws, via the contact details available on the database.
  6. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.
  7. Prizes are not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised. Prize winners must sign for receipt of prizes.

Finals

Dates: 23 December 2025

Times: 20h00

Venue: Main Casino Floor – Tournament Area

  1. The top 5 scores and the Draw winner will qualify to participate in the Finals
  2. The Final will consist of 6 positions.
  3. A draw for each Final Battle will take place to determine participants per session
  4. The draw would also include participants picking random cards to determine the game type that they will start on.
  5. Once the completion of the round, participants will move clockwise to the next game until all three games have been completed
  6. The top score of the overall session will determine prize ranking

American Roulette

  1. Each session will consist of the following:

  • 4th position – 6% of the Final Prize Pool (Money that will be allocated to the final heat)
  • 5th position – 5% of the Final Prize Pool (Money that will be allocated to the final heat)
